Week 6 is upon us and a stack of injury reports to get through. We saw more players effected by injury in week 5. As well as injury concerns, we have the looming threat of COVID-19. This is also something to be aware of and worth checking right up until match day.
The following games currently have COVID-19 concerns:
- Atlanta Falcons @ Minnesota Vikings.
- Denver Broncos @ New England Patriots.
- Cincinnati Bengals @ Indianapolis Colts.
Remember, injuries can hit players quickly- so check out our rankings page to get you sorted for the week.
Week 6 Injury Report: Ruled Out
Dak Prescott (QB, DAL)
Broken Ankle (OUT)
With Prescott out, veteran quarterback Andy Dalton will step up. Taking charge of one of the best offenses in the league. The receiving core of Cooper, Gallup, and Lamb should still see opportunities. However I can see the team turn to star running back Ezekiel Elliot more often now.
Dionte Johnson (WR, PIT)
Back (OUT)
Johnson was ruled out from returning during the Steelers week 5 win over the Philadelphia Eagles. This week, the receiver failed to practice on Wednesday. However, he was able to return on Thursday where he was limited.
With Johnson out of the scene this past week against the Eagles, it was rookie Chase Claypool who stepped up. Ultimately, catching 7 of 11 targets for 110 yards and scored 4 touchdowns, 1 of which was a rushing touchdown.
With a performance like that, Claypool will be forcing his way onto the team more often than not.
Week 6 Injury Reports: Doubtful
Dalvin Cook (RB, MIN)
Groin (Doubtful)
Vikings running back Dalvin Cook pulled up on Sunday against the Seahawks. Thankfully the injury was not as serious as first thought. It should only be a week on the sidelines.
With Cook not playing, Alexander Mattison will take over in the backfield. As such, he should automatically feature in your starting rosters.
Week 6 Injury Reports: Questionable
Noah Fant (TE, DEN) & Drew Lock (QB, DEN)
Ankle & Shoulder (Both Questionable)
Broncos starting quarterback Drew Lock is hopeful of making his return this week. Lock was getting injured in week 2 and has logged full practice all week to date. Meanwhile, TE Noah Fant has been limited in practice with ankle trouble.
With Lock returning they team will hope that receivers Jerry Jeudy, K.J Hamler and Tim Patrick will benefit going forward.
It does appear however that Fant owners should watch this one carefully. In the event of Fant being ruled out, it is hard to look at any other players other than the receiver’s mentioned.
**UPDATE: Noah Fant has now been ruled out**
Chris Godwin (WR, TB) & Leonard Fournette (RB, TB)
Hamstring & Ankle (Both Questionable)
Both players did not feature in Week 5. Godwin was ruled out early that week and Fournette was on the sideline in the event that anything happened to fellow running back Ronald Jones. Going into week 6, to date in practice both players have been limited.
If Godwin is to miss another match up, Scotty Miller and Tyler Johnson may see more snaps and targets. While Ronald Jones will expect to see the carries out of the backfield- with or without Fournette being on the field.
A.J. Brown (WR, TEN)
Knee (Questionable)
The Titans star receiver finally made his return against the Bills in week 5 and he went off for 7 receptions, 82 yards, and 1 touchdown. However, he currently finds himself noted as questionable as he did not practice on Thursday.
This will likely have been an additional rest day for Brown as the team played on Tuesday night. Currently, all roads point to Brown playing this week against Houston Texans.
Jarvis Landry (WR, CLE) & Odell Beckham JR. (WR, CLE)
Ribs/Hip & Illness (All Questionable)
A triple-header of injuries for the Browns this week! It seems like Jarvis Landry is on this report every other week at this season and is going through the wars. Now with trouble to his ribs and hip and has failed to practice this week. Meanwhile, OBJ was sent home from practice on Thursday with an illness. Nothing more was specified by the team.
With the 4-1 Browns taking on the 4-0 Steelers, we are set for a great match up. However, if Cleveland are missing any of their premium players this week they may struggle.
D.J. Chark (WR, JAC)
Ankle
Doubt is hanging over Chark’s week 6 status after failing to practice on Wednesday and Thursday this week.
With these missed practices under his belt this week it does not look good for him featuring against the Detroit Lions on Sunday.
If he does not play this weekend, expect rookie receiver Laviska Shenault along with Keelan Cole and Chris Conley to see more snaps and targets.
Darius Slayton (WR, NYG) & Sterling Shepard (WR, NYG)
Foot & Toe (Both Questionable)
Both Giants receivers have found themselves on the injury report this week with limited participation in practice. Slayton was limited on Thursday due to a foot ailment. While Shepard is set to return to practice this week after missing the last 3 games with a turf toe injury.
If either or both players fail to feature this week, receiver Golden Tate along with tight end Evan Engram will hope to see their target shares increase. Equally, newly signed running back Devonte Freeman may also see some extra looks.
That wraps up the week 6 injury reports. Hopefully, I have covered everything you need, of course if you have any other questions or concerns of players on your roster. Feel free to reach out to us on social media and we will be happy to help. You can find us on Twitter, Facebook, and Instagram.
