Week 6 Streaming Options

Bye weeks are upon us and we’re all looking to fill in the holes on our roster for Week 6. Here are my favorite streaming options of the week. The order in which these players are listed is the order in which I would start them for this upcoming week.

Week 6 QB Streaming Options

Matthew Stafford (LAR) v ARI

ESPN 53%, Yahoo 68%, Sleeper 65%

This Rams-Cardinals game has the 2nd-highest projected point total (48.5) in Week 6, with the Rams expected to score 27 points at home. This Rams offense has been extremely efficient so far in 2023, but Stafford’s fantasy numbers haven’t shown it 5 weeks into the season. He’s a major positive touchdown regression candidate, having only thrown for 5 touchdowns despite having thrown for the 5th-most yards in the league so far. With Cooper Kupp at full health, look for Stafford to have his best fantasy game of 2023 against a Cardinals defense allowing the 3rd-most points to the quarterback position through 5 weeks.

Dak Prescott (DAL) @ LAC

ESPN 73%, Yahoo 87%, Sleeper 80%

If there was ever a “get-right” game for Dallas offensively, it should theoretically come here on Monday night against a reeling Chargers defense. Dak has been majorly disappointing for fantasy football thus far in 2023, but it’s hard not to recognize the wonky gamescripts Dallas has found themselves in across each of their matchups so far in 2023. Dallas has either been blowing teams out because of their own elite defensive performances or have faced elite defenses themselves in all but one game this season. Those factors aren’t conducive to fantasy success, but this matchup with the Chargers with a 51-point over/under should provide Dak plenty of opportunities to find the endzone.

Jared Goff (DET) @ TB

ESPN 57%, Yahoo 86%, Sleeper 79%

Goff has quietly been the QB10 through 5 weeks, and can be trusted as a weekly starter with a solid floor. Tampa Bay’s run defense has been a solid unit over the past few years, and with the return of Amon-Ra St. Brown I expect the Lions to throw the ball more than usual here in this game. The only reason I don’t have Goff ranked higher here is because it’s an away game for Detroit. Goff has been much more productive at home during his tenure in Detroit, but this Lions offense is humming nonetheless.

Gardner Minshew (IND) @ JAX

ESPN 3%, Yahoo 7%, Sleeper 12%

It’s a revenge game here in Jacksonville, as Minshew will be starting against the team that originally drafted him in 2019. Jacksonville is allowing the 27th-most points to the quarterback position while having one of the best run defenses in the NFL. I expect Jacksonville to be in control for most of this game, which should allow Minshew plenty of opportunities to have a solid fantasy outing while playing catch-up in this game.

Week 6 RB Streaming Options

Justice Hill (BAL) @ TEN

ESPN 32%, Yahoo 41%, Sleeper 43%

Justice Hill usurped Gus Edwards in Baltimore’s backfield in Pittsburgh last weekend, seeing 56% of snaps and 11 opportunities (7 carries and 4 targets). This Tennessee run defense has been the best in the league over the last two seasons, but their best run defender Teair Tart is questionable to play in London on Sunday morning. He missed the Titans last matchup against Indianapolis, where they allowed Zack Moss to run for 165 yards and 2 touchdowns. I’m optimistic about Hill in this matchup provided that Tart misses another matchup.

Chuba Hubbard (CAR) @ MIA

ESPN 25%, Yahoo 31%, Sleeper 39%

The Panthers should be playing catch-up here in Miami, as they are 14 point road underdogs against the high-flying Dolphins offense. Hubbard should stand to benefit from this gamescript, as he’ll likely see at least 4 targets as the lead back following Miles Sanders’ injury that will keep him out of the contest. There’s a chance that Hubbard takes over the backfield from here on out because of Sanders’ inefficiencies even while healthy.

D’Onta Foreman (CHI) v MIN

ESPN 15%, Yahoo 28%, Sleeper 37%

Foreman is the next man up in Chicago’s backfield following Khalil Herbert’s IR designation and Roschon Johnson’s concussion he suffered last Thursday night. Foreman has been extremely efficient as a runner in the past, finishing as a top-12 running back in 4 out of his 11 starts in 2022 with Carolina. This is a tough matchup against a Vikings team that has been stout against the run in 2023, but Foreman’s mix of volume and big-play potential makes him a solid start this week.

Emari Demercado (ARI) @ LAR

ESPN 53%, Yahoo 67%, Sleeper 66%

Demercado can be started in a pinch, but there is no guarantee of the amount of volume that he’ll see on Sunday in LA. He was trusted with the majority of snaps and touches for this Cardinals backfield following James Conner’s injury against Cincinnati, but that was with Arizona missing their primary backup in Keontay Ingram due to a neck injury. Demercado looked explosive and very well could lead this backfield while James Conner is on IR, but it’s difficult to project his volume with Ingram sliding back into the fold this week. He’s a high-ceiling, low-floor option in Week 6.

Week 6 WR Streaming Options

Josh Reynolds (DET) @ TB

ESPN 27%, Yahoo 48%, Sleeper 56%

Josh Reynolds just keeps producing here in 2023. He’s the WR23 on the season and has been the primary starter on the outside for an efficient Lions offense. As mentioned before, this Tampa Bay run defense is stout. This should allow for plenty of opportunities in the passing game again for Reynolds to pay off as a flex play in Week 6.

Josh Downs (IND) @ JAX

ESPN 29%, Yahoo 29%, Sleeper 47%

Josh Downs had his most productive game so far in his rookie campaign in Week 5, hauling in all 6 of his targets for 97 yards. He has thrived with Garner Minshew under center, seeing 12 and 6 targets in the 2 games that Minshew has played. Downs has major potential to pay off in PPR leagues against a Jacksonville defense that has isn’t nearly as good against the pass as they are against the run game.

Darnell Mooney (CHI) v MIN

ESPN 38%, Yahoo 20%, Sleeper 27%

Justin Fields has looked like the quarterback we had hoped to see in 2023 over the past 2 weeks, throwing for the most yards in his career in back-to-back weeks. That hasn’t meant much for Darnell Mooney fantasy-wise, but I expect him to get more involved and to have solid opportunities against a poor Minnesota secondary as long as Fields can maintain his upward trajectory as a passer.

Trenton Irwin (CIN) v SEA

ESPN <1%, Yahoo <1%, Sleeper 2%

While many expected Tyler Boyd to be the main benefactor of Tee Higgins’ injury in Week 5, it was Trenton Irwin that became Joe Burrow’s #2 target in the passing game. Irwin hauled in 8 catches on 10 targets, looking like a reliable safety blanket for Burrow as defenses try to survive the wrath of Jamarr Chase on a week-to-week basis. Consider Irwin in your flex if Higgins misses action once again in Week 6.

Week 6 TE Streaming Options

Cade Otton (TB) v DET

ESPN 1%, Yahoo 2%, Sleeper 6%

A major theme in this article has been trying to project offensive strategies in these Week 6 matchups. Detroit’s run defense is elite, and I expect Tampa Bay to counter this by passing often in neutral situations on Sunday. Otton has a good chance of benefitting from a gamescript like that come Sunday.

Jonnu Smith (ATL) v WAS

ESPN 13%, Yahoo 17%, Sleeper 24%

Since Week 2, Jonnu Smith has seen at least 6 targets in every week for this Atlanta offense. He’s still on waivers in many leagues despite being targeted more often than Kyle Pitts, and can be reliably started against a Washington team that is struggling in all facets defensively.

Noah Fant (SEA) @ CIN

ESPN 2%, Yahoo 3%, Sleeper 8%

Fant has hit some big plays this season, hauling in 31 and 51 yard passes in 2 of the last 3 weeks. With an over/under of 45 and Cincinnati honing in on slowing down DK Metcalf and Tyler Lockett, I like Fant in this matchup to produce relative to expectation.
