Week 7 Fantasy Streamers

Waivers have already cleared, but for those waiting on injury designations, or for the managers that like to replace byes the old fashion way, here are your top fantasy football streamers for Week 7.

Disclaimer: As always, I will try and look past most obvious waiver candidates, targeting Week 7 Streamers that are available in less than 40 percent of all ESPN leagues. My selections will be based on their matchups, recent play, and upside potential in deeper PPR formats. For certain positions, I will even list some streamer options that I recommend avoiding.

Your Week 7 Byes:

  • Baltimore Ravens
  • Indianapolis Colts
  • Miami Dolphins
  • Minnesota Vikings

Week 7 Fantasy Streamers: QB

Teddy Bridgewater (CAR) – 32.9% (@NO)

Teddy B has become a mainstay on my streamer lists in 2020 and he has yet to disappoint me. I didn’t list him in Week 6 because of his matchup against the Chicago Bears, and he ended up regressing to a sub-double digit fantasy performance. One week later, Bridgewater and this offense should get back on track against the Saints. For starters, this game will be played in the Superdome, which is always kind to QB’s. Secondly, this NFC South faceoff should be a shootout between teams that aren’t known for their defense. Bridgewater may have been waivered, or rostered, but if he’s not he’s definitely the top quarterback streamer available (again) in Week 7.

Kyle Allen (WAS) – 2.3% (v DAL)

It’s not often I recommend playing someone from the Washington Football Team offense, but Kyle Allen may actually be a sneaky Week 7 play. This Cowboys defense has been porous all 2020 season, ranking 26th against quarterbacks, and there is no reason to think that will change this weekend. Allen had 280 passing yards and two touchdowns against a much better Giants defense a week ago (73.8 completion percentage). If not for two turnovers, he would have been close to 20 points in most fantasy leagues, and Dallas is much less likely to put pressure on the Washington QB.

Honorable Mention

Sam Darnold (NYJ) – 2.0% (v BUF)

Certainly a risk with Darnold coming back from a shoulder injury and the Jets being the Jets, but the Gang Green starter is much more talented than Joe Flacco (who played the last two weeks), and he may have more healthy weapons in Week 7 than he’s had all year. Darnold struggled Week 1 against the Bills, but their secondary has become surprisingly pitiful as the season has gone on. Darnold and the Jets have extremely slim odds of winning, but they also have nothing to lose, and that should mean Darnold airing the ball out to keep up with Josh Allen.

QB Streamers to Avoid

Andy Dalton (DAL) – 20.5% (@WAS)

Dalton let me down last week (as I listed him as a streamer during his first start with the Cowboys), but that’s not why I am against streaming him in Week 7. If the Washington Football Team does one thing well, it’s rush the passer. The Cowboys offensive line has NOBODY left, they have been decimated by injuries on the blocking front. Dalton may be under extreme pressure on Sunday, and if we learned anything from the Red Rifle’s days in Cincy, it’s that he does not play well under pressure.

Baker Mayfield (CLE) – 17.3% (@CIN)

I think it’s time we all stop putting so much faith in Baker Mayfield. Even with better blocking and more weapons than ever before in 2020, Baker has been terrible. He is also dealing with an injury. This offense moves the ball by running it, that’s how they beat the Bengals in Week 2. Don’t expect them to trust in Mayfield (no 20 point performances in 2020) this time around either.

Week 7 Fantasy Streamers: RB

As my colleague already listed, the top waiver candidates this week include; Boston Scott, Justin Jackson, D’Ernest Johnson and La’Mical Perine/Frank Gore. I’ll look into some possible streamers that were not big-name waivers.

J.D. McKissic (WSH) – 32.4% (v DAL)

DOUBLE DOWN… one of my top Week 6 suggestions should be an even better play against the Cowboys defense. The PPR beast had six catches for 43 yards against the Giants, but he also added eight rushes for 41 yards on the ground (5.1 per carry).

Jamaal Williams (GB) – 24.1% (@HOU)

The Texans simply cannot stop the run. Derrick Henry was the latest back to torch their pathetic run D last week. Now it should be the Aaron Jones show for the run-first Packers in Week 7, but Green Bay likes to mix in Williams too. Don’t doubt his potential in what could be a 200-plus yard team rushing performance by the Packers.

Honorable Mention

Giovani Bernard (CIN) – 4.9% (v CLE)

Joe Mixon is a little banged up, so it’s possible that the Bengals will lean on the veteran PPR back more than usual. When he gets his snaps, Bernard is generally pretty productive as a fantasy streamer option (in PPR leagues).

Week 7 Fantasy Streamers: WR

Cole Beasley (BUF) – 31.0% (@NYJ)

Beasley has been absurdly consistent all season long, and he should find things easy in Week 7 against an unmotivated Jets secondary. He went four for 45 with a touchdown on seven targets in Week 6.

Tim Patrick (DEN) – 23.0% (v KC)

Patrick has had back-to-back 100-plus yard games with a bye in between. He also did this with two different quarterbacks, making this even more impressive of a feat. The Chiefs have been tough on wide receivers, but Patrick is outplaying top prospects Jerry Jeudy and K.J. Hamler. As the Broncos WR1, he at least deserves to be streamed.

Adam Humphries (TEN) – 6.0% (v PIT)

Ryan Tannehill may need to get the ball out quickly against the Steelers ferocious pass rush, setting Jonnu Smith and Adam Humphries up for extra targets in Week 7. Humphries has been productive with Corey Davis out, catching all six targets last week plus a touchdown.

DEEP WR Streamers

Demarcus Robinson (KC) – 2.7% (@DEN)

If Sammy Watkins is out again, expect Robinson to fill his role against Denver. He was five for 69 last week spelling Watkins.

Dontrelle Inman (WSH) – 0.4% (v DAL)

Inman has a tremendous matchup against the Cowboys, and he’s averaging 4.5 targets per game this season which would be closer to five if not for an outlier. Until some prospects emerge in Washington, Allen only has McLaurin and Inman to throw to at WR.

Braxton Berrios (NYJ) – 0.5% (v BUF)

If Jamison Crowder misses this week’s game, Berrios is never a bad stream playing the slot for Sam Darnold in his place.

Week 7 Fantasy Streamers: TE

The free agent options at tight end are becoming minimal at best, so hopefully you have your starter healthy and ready to go in Week 7. For the Mark Andrews or Mike Gesicki owners though, Cowboys’ Dalton Schultz is amongst your best bets (available in 41.4% of leagues), and it gets slimmer as we look under the 40 percent threshold.

Darren Fells/Jordan Akins (HOU) – 6.6/2.5% (v GB)

Deshaun Watson usually throws the ball a ton, and we have learned that he likes to utilize his big tight ends on gouge-plays most games. Against Green Bay, he’ll probably be playing from behind and I almost guarantee that one of these tight ends will have a solid performance. The problem is figuring out which one. Akins was the starter, but he’s missed the past two weeks with injury. During that time, the veteran Fells has shined yet again. He seems to have a great chemistry with Watson whenever he plays. The big question is IF Akins will play on Sunday, and if he does, who will get the key snaps and targets when it matters most.

Drew Sample (CIN) – 2.3% (v CLE)

Sample had his best game of the season against Cleveland in Week 2, with seven reception (45 yards) on nine targets. He hasn’t done much since, so it’s a risk, but what free agent tight end isn’t? If you’re a student of history, give Sample a go in PPR leagues this week.

Honorable Mention

Gerald Everett (LAR) – 1.6% (v CHI)

Sean McVay usually utilizes both Higbee and Everett as receiving options. The Rams TE2 has a lower ceiling, but he usually gets his three or four catches per game, and maybe you’ll luck out on one of them.

P.S. You’ll notice that I avoided TE’s with better matchups like Chris Herndon (NYJ), Tyler Eifert (JAX) and Logan Thomas (WSH). These players have all been ineffective or injured for most of the season, if not all of it (besides Thomas who had a touchdown save his score last week). I can’t trust in these guys until they give me some reason to.

Week 7 Fantasy Streamers: D/ST

Los Angeles Chargers – 25.5% (v JAX)

Not many great streamer options in Week 7 at D/ST, but the best by far (under the 40 percent threshold) looks to be the Chargers. Gardner Minshew has begun to struggle with reading more complex coverage units, and LAC has one of the better ones in the NFL. This defense has been hurt and/or inconsistent at times, but at its best it still has a fearsome pass rush and top-notch corners. The Chargers are also coming off a bye, so they will be fresher than usual.

Honorable Mention

Green Bay Packers – 8.4% (@HOU)

The Packers biggest weakness is the run, but Houston isn’t strong on the ground game. Still, starting Green Bay might be a major risk if Watson plays well. If the Packers lead early though, they should milk the clock and control the time of possession with Jones and Williams, limiting the Texans ability to put points on the board.

D/ST Streamers to Avoid

Cleveland Browns – 24.3% (@CIN)

On paper, the Browns have a nice outlook, and Myles Garrett should hassle Joe Burrow plenty throughout this game. At the same time, these two franchises had a shootout in Week 2, and that could easily happen again with these skilled Cincy receivers matching up against a poor Cleveland secondary.

Dallas Cowboys – 22.3% (@WSH)

Rostered in 22.3 percent of leagues? Seriously guys? Dallas has gotten negative fantasy points in half their games this season, and their only decent score (nine points in my league) was because of a defensive TD against the Giants. Don’t let the Washington matchup fool you, this defense cannot shut down any NFL team, except maybe the Jets with Flacco.

Week 7 Fantasy Streamers: K

Ryan Succop (TB) – 12.6% (@LVR)

As far as kickers go, Succop is hot right now, with five field goals, six extra points and zero misses in the last two games. The Bucs offense keeps getting better too, as Brady develops chemistry with his weapons, and that’s only good news for the veteran kicker.

Michael Badgley (LAC) – 2.7% (v JAX)

It hasn’t been a great season for Badgley, but the Chargers offense should put up a lot of points against the Jaguars, and that’s enough of a reason to stream him.

Honorable Mention

Brandon McManus (DEN) – 15.2% (v KC)

Not crazy about this matchup against a gelling Chiefs defense, but the Broncos offense has what they call “warning track power” in baseball. They can get into field goal range, but rarely score touchdowns. McManus had an incredible game last week, and he can pretty much hit from anywhere inside of 65 yards.
